Lucy and Bill Kennelly (SN 1957) hosted the 2005 reunion
May 11 to 14 at Eatontown, New Jersey

Many thanks to Dr. Kenneth Cooper (SN 56-58) and Arlie Harman (LTjg 55-58)
for these photos and commentary.

The ceremony honoring
departed Gearing shipmates
was held at the
New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial
in Holmdel.

A highlight of the 2005 reunion was the field trip to the USS Interpid Museum in New York City. In the photo on the left is Barbara Cooper. With his back to us, in the brown jacket, is Don Hentges (EM2 58-61).

Mural of USS Intrepid ablaze at the site of the
explosion shown in the mural, with battle sounds,
lights and smoke accompanying a narration of the
action. Spooky.

Darrell Keene (MM3 52-56) and wife flanked on
either side by Arlie Harman (LTjg 55-58)
and his wife on flight deck of Intrepid with
New York skyline in the background.

Intrepid pilot house.

At the banquet...
Dave Petrie (SN 56-58), and Bob Calhoun (MM3 55-59)

Ocean County Emerald Society Pipe and
Drum Band. Bill Kennelly was in the color
guard, but the band appeared as total
surprise at the banquet.

Table of Honor, set in respect of
Gearing shipmates who have passed on.
