We were honored to have Frank Goetschius and his lovely wife visit with us last weekend. Frank was the Gunnery Officer of USS Gearing DD-710, the lead ship of our class of destroyer.

Frank got to visit all his old spaces including the wardroom, his bunk in the FWD Junior Officers Quarters, and his MK37 Director.

Make no mistake, while 850 is not 710, these spaces and equipment belong to Frank as much as to anyone else who served in destroyers. We do not say welcome aboard.... we say welcome home.

USS Gearing Association president Ken Baker has sent several
reunion photos that were taken at the LaForge Restaurant in Newport.
He wishes he could have sent more but he says they didn't turn out very well!
